CHEEZO Came To Shelton

The Child Sex Offender Internet Investigations Unit, known as Cheezo, is at the forefront of the Sheriff’s Office’s commitment to ensure the safety of our children.

Predators use the internet as a gateway to victims because of the anonymity and the ability to lure children with minimal detection and apprehension. This same anonymity is capitalized upon by highly trained Cheezo investigators who portray themselves as teenagers online where adults seek victims for sexual purposes.

  • Since its inception in 2005, more than 920 arrests have been made in Jefferson County by Cheezo.
  • The Cheezo investigators have a combined 50 years’ experience in crimes against children.
  • Each year more than 150 Internet and cell phone safety presentations are given.
  • The Cheezo team have established themselves as leaders in the tracking predators and are sought for training to other law enforcement agencies nationwide.  Come and join CHEEZO at a Parent Technology Safety Night

Please read the Tools for Parents and learn how to safeguard your children.

Day Without Hate

April 27th Shelton will become "A School Without Hate" as we celebrate "Day Without Hate." The Kindness Club will be leading students in activities that foster a positive school culture and climate, having students sign the banner as a pledge to improve the schools climate and culture and showing a video about the bullying policy. We are asking all students to wear white, a kindness shirt, or a day without hate shirt that day.   More information about "Day Without Hate" can be found at
